CONNECTING SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY
The Warren County Training School-North Warren High School and Friends Alumni Association (WCTS-NWHS) will work collaboratively with the Rural School and Community Trust Capacity Building Program and the Warren County Public School System in pursuit of the following goals:
    1. Build the capacity of community leaders and potential community leaders to engage in effective educational reforms in Warren County.

    2. Design and implement an effective academic enhancement program for certain students in Warren County who have been identified as academically vulnerable.

    3. Recruit community based activists who will serve as advocates for improving public policy in education, and crystallizing the vision for Warren County public education.

The Summer Enrichment Program for youths is designed to provide assistance to 20-25 school-age youths who have been identified as academically vulnerable in the areas of mathematics, reading, and writing, with a professional staff of three teachers and three teacher assistants and five or more volunteers.
The Saturday Academy is designed to provide tutorial assistance targeting school-age youths who have deficiencies in mathematics, reading and writing. During this process, mentoring will be fostered to help enhance self-esteem and self-concept development. Five to six students will be assigned to each of three teachers and three teacher assistants.
